PROJECT TITLE: Evaluating the capacity for searchability and usability of a digital archive of Aboriginal language materials
DESCRIPTION: This project involves an evaluation of the Living Archive of Aboriginal Languages (livingarchive.cdu.edu.au) in terms of its usability for educational purposes. This collection of materials in Indigenous languages of the Northern Territory began as a repository for the hundreds of items created in Literature Production Centres in remote schools with bilingual education programs. The implementation of the Australian Curriculum will require teachers nationwide to include aspects of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures, as part of the cross-curriculum priorities. How does the Living Archive lend itself to assisting teachers to use the materials in their classrooms, and how could it be improved to make it more accessible and useful?
